Art and Soul: Lessons from an Artist about Creativity and Work (6pm MST)

In this "First Mondays" webinar, GCN will host nationally renowned artist Andrew Tirado. Andy will share his experiences with representing Christ in the art world, and how he portrays profound truths in his massive sculptures and paintings. All professionals can learn from Andy as we seek to integrate a thoughtful, grace-filled faith in every area of life, including our work.

About Andrew Tirado

Andrew started his career as the studio assistant for the late painter Chuck Close in New York City. Moving back to Colorado, he began building wood strip canoes, fabricating custom props, and building theatrical sets. For over twenty years, he worked as Seminar Faculty for the Marie Walsh Sharpe Art Foundation’s Summer Seminar Program. He taught at the Bemis School of Art, the Anderson Ranch Arts Center, and, for ten years, taught woodworking and supervised the 3D Arts Facility at Colorado College. Since 2012, his award-winning art has been shown at major galleries and museums, including the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center. In 2016, he worked at the Venice Biennale of Architecture in Italy. In 2021, Andrew completed a large public sculpture for the city of Tulsa, Oklahoma, titled “Highlight.”
